British 8th Army heavy mortar team (Western Desert)The primary model of heavy mortar fielded by British and Commonwealth troops during World War II was the Ordnance ML 4. 2 inch mortar. First seeing action during the Second Battle of El Alamein in late 1942 before being put to good use in other theatres of the war and post war during the Korean War and on into the 1960s. Contains one metal gun and four crew, with plastic 60mm round lipped base. Models supplied unassembled and unpainted
