31 March 2011 Due to several circumstances the API site was not updated for a lengthy period. Photography did continue though in the meantime. A small selection is included in the Recent Encounters Gallery. Meanwhile a major upgrade of the site has commenced and upon its completion further photography will be added. Thank you in advance for your patience. 5 Jan 2009 2009 began with a unique opportunity to portray aircraft participating in the Celebration Flight starting the year of KLM’s 90th anniversary (founded 7 October 1919). 10 Apr 2008 The first session in 2008 was with a beautifully painted Harvard of the Royal Netherlands Air Fore Historical Flight. 25 Jan 2008 Due to various circumstances no updates were added to the site for almost a year. Photography continued though during 2007, albeit with a lesser frequency than desired. The results can be found in the updated recent encounters gallery 9 Jan 2007
A return to Portugal in December created a chance to fly in an (MLU) F-16B, photographing two other Fighting Falcons. A treasured experience. Prior to that several Benelux based aircraft could be portrayed. The results are shown in the Recent Encounters Gallery. The Swiss AMPA organization based in Lausanne operates a series of historic aircraft, some of which were portrayed in August. Every year a beautiful Aero Retro calendar is published by the AMPA. The 2007 issue contains three of Ben Ullings’ air-to-air photographs. (www.ampa.ch) 12 Nov 2006 End October the Portuguese Air Force and Navy provided a number of unique opportunities to portray their aircraft in the air. The results have been added to the Recent Encounters Gallery 17 Sep 2006 A delightful air-to-air session over southern Belgium produced some very nice aerial portraits of Belgian owned YAK-18 OO-IAK 08 Sep 2006 New links added 01 Sep 2006 API material was extensively used for the 2007 issue of the Luchtvaartkalender produced by Peter Korbee.
